Chai Spice Iced Coffee
Chai spice coffee is the perfect way to soak in the fall season. Like pumpkin spice, Chai Spice is full of cinnamon, nutmeg, and other cozy spices. Chai coffee can be brewed cold or hot, depending on your coffee preference. And the chai spice recipe is super versatile, add it to any baked goods for a touch of fall.
Before You Begin
- 1 servings
- Prep: 4 min
- Cook: 1 day
- Total: 1 day 4 mins
Ingredients
Chai Spice Cold Brew
- 1 cup Coffee Grounds
- 4 cups Water
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Ginger
- 2 tsp All Spice
- 1 tsp Cloves (ground or whole)
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
Chai Spice Iced Coffee
- 1 cup Chai Spice Cold Brew*
- ½ cup Soy Barista Blend (or any plant milk)
- 3 tbsp Hazelnut or Vanilla Creamer**
Instructions
Chai Spice Cold Brew
- In a small bowl, combine coffee grounds and all spices. Mix to combine.
- Add the chai spiced coffee grounds to a cold brew pitcher, or french press.
- Slowly pour water over the coffee grounds. This will take a few minutes since it takes a while for the water to fully soak through the coffee grounds.
- Put cold brew pitcher or french press in the fridge for 15 to 48 hours. The longer you leave it, the richer the flavour will come out. I usually leave mine for 24 hours.
Chai Spice Iced Coffee
- Combine chai spice cold brew, barista blend / plant milk, and creamer in a mason jar or glass.
- Top with as much as you can for best effect. Stir well and enjoy your coffee shop quality fall drink!
Notes
- *The ratios used in this chai spice cold brew recipe produce a very strong, concentrated coffee. Personally, I think it’s way too strong to be good on it’s own so I always add half cup of plant milk in addition to the vegan creamer.
- One cup of coffee grounds with 4 cups of water makes about 4 coffees.
- I add Earth’s Own Soy Barista Blend because it’s really neutral and creamy. I love adding barista blends because they’re much thicker than regular plant milk. Barista blends create the coffee shop quality iced coffee we love!
- My favorite vegan creamers are Silk Vanilla Almond or Silk Hazelnut Almond, and Coffee Mate Caramel Almond. I’ve tried each of these creamers with chai spice coffee and they all work really well! I think my personal favorite is the vanilla!
